Vegan-friendly brushes which do not use animal hair

My Story
I have been painting with oils and teaching for many years and often seen fellow artists struggling, especially when using natural hog hair brushes for oil or acrylics. Natural hair can split at the ends and become very stiff as they age.
So having the opportunity back in 2008 to work with a German brush manufacturer to create a range of synthetic fibre brushes was too good to miss.
So here I am with a range of 10 brushes, some suitable for oils/acrylics and others great for watercolour, gouache or inks. I hope you enjoy using them as much as I did creating them.
What makes these brushes special?
Fibres on these brushes vary depending on purpose.
You will find creamy relatively springy ones for my filbert brushes making them ideal for oil or acrylics (if used in a manner similar to oils).
Brown fibres create a fine point for watercolour brushes. The no.0 round brush is extra long from standard, helping it hold more paint and keep a finer point.
The oval wash brush is made of a very soft orange fibre which holds lots of colour and can also be used on its edge to paint fine lines.

Introducing the Melanie Cambridge range

A range of synthetic filbert, extra long filbert and flat brushes ideal for oils/acrylics.

My brushes for watercolour contain a range of brushes with soft brown fibres which keep a great point and a very soft oval wash brush which when wet has a blade edge for fine lines too.

I have created a these sets for both watercolour and oil/acrylic artists alongside 3-brush beginner sets which make an ideal gift for arty friends and family.
